Drivers, Carpoolers, Transit Riders,
Businesses and Communities
- Four new lanes (two in each direction) on
I-495 from the Springfield Interchange to
just north of the Dulles Toll Road – 14 miles
- Opportunity to pay a toll for a faster, more
predictable trip
- Introduction of high occupancy vehicle
(HOV) and reliable transit options on the
Capital Beltway
- Replacement of more than $260 million of
aging infrastructure, including:
- More than 50 bridges and overpasses
- Upgrades to 12 key interchanges
- New direct access to Tysons Corner and
Merrifield via the HOT Lanes
- New safety measures in the HOT Lanes to
promote driver safety
